Hello! I’mKelly
About Me

In August 2024, at age 35, my life was upended by a diagnosis of Stage 3C metaplastic HER2+ breast cancer. Treatment was effective, but it was hellish: physically, mentally, and emotionally. Walking through that darkness gave me a profound understanding of what it truly means to fight for your life, your identity, and your sanity. It also revealed a truth I couldn’t ignore: the mental and emotional toll of cancer touches every patient, and everyone deserves to have whole-person support to navigate this.
Professionally, I bring more than a decade of experience teaching and coaching in health, wellness, and resiliency. I spent eight years as an educator, dual licensed in Special Education and History, supporting students in building the executive functioning, regulation, and problem-solving skills they needed to thrive. For over two years, I worked in psychiatric rehabilitation at Boston University, where I taught and coached young adults in wellness, resiliency, and mental health strategies every single day.
Throughout my own cancer journey, I had an epiphany: the tools I was using professionally are the exact tools cancer patients desperately need, yet are rarely taught. Combined with the power of peer support, I knew I was uniquely positioned to make a meaningful impact.
Today, Thrive Beyond Coaching is how I answer that calling. Whether through one-on-one coaching, group programs, or workshops with cancer organizations across the globe, I'm here to walk alongside the people doing this hard work. My goal is to help them reclaim a sense of self, build resilience, and find their footing.
In the darkest days of treatment I wrote in my journal, “I don’t want to ‘survive’ Breast Cancer. I want to ‘THRIVE’ after Breast Cancer.” I’ve been through the fire, and now I’m here to walk with others through theirs.

My Approach
My coaching approach is rooted in empathy, kindness, and warmth. Whether you're a patient, a survivor, someone caring for a loved one, or a professional working in cancer care, I'm here to help you navigate change, build on the strengths you already have, and hold onto a sense of agency when so much can feel out of your hands.
Coaching is not therapy. Instead of exploring trauma or diagnosing mental health conditions, we focus on the present and the future: what you need now, what matters most to you, and the next steps that will actually move you forward. You stay in the driver's seat. My role is to listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and reflect back what I hear so you can find the answers that are already within you. Together we get clear on the life you want, set meaningful goals, and build your confidence one small win at a time.
Whether you're rebuilding after treatment, steadying yourself through it, or caring for others while running low yourself, my approach is collaborative, empowering, and grounded in trust. Setbacks aren't failures here. They're information and a normal part of how real change takes hold. Step by step, I'll partner with you to move from overwhelm to clarity, and from simply surviving to thriving beyond.
